My four year old Stevie went to the store with me yesterday. As usual, he talked and talked along the way. We got caught by a train, so as we were sitting there I was listening to the radio and he was looking out the window at the cows in the pasture. Out of the blue he states, "Mom, lets talk about DNA." Where did this come from? A four year old wanting to talk about DNA. I laughed. Then when we got to the store, he approached a man and told him, "Wow, you sure are short!" I was glad the man didnt take offense. My little hippy child Stevie. I love him so. Wednesday, September 10, 2003

I went to find Dr. D's website so you all could go there and wish him a happy four oh! and I lost my whole post in the process. But here is his address, so you have to go there now since I lost my written words. http://www.madbull4.net/testblog/ Go over and tell him that you've raised your glass to him! Concert cancelled.......... but we werent told about that for a long damn time. We head out to Six Flags Saturday afternoon. Hubby's and my VERY FIRST..EVER...time out together without one or more of the kids. (We even had three of them on the honeymoon.) So I was very pleased about our first outing, and the fact that I was gonna see Hootie and the Blowfish again. So were standing in line and the rain comes. It pours, folks. Alot of people left, but the staff werent saying if the show was gonna be cancelled or not, so us die-hard fans endure. Then we see staff running away. We stop one of them and ask WTF?, and he says, "In weather this bad, we run for cover." Does the employee agreement at Six Flags state this?: I, Billy Joe Blow Job, promise that when it rains really hard that I will run for my dumb ass life so SF doesnt have to pay workman's comp if I get struck by lightin' and I will not tell the patrons to do the same, for they are idiots anyway for standing in the rain in the first place. Ok, we WERE standing int eh damn rain, but to see Hootie. And they werent saying if it was gonna be cancelled or not. So we took cover ourselves and it was finally cancelled. Bummer. Hope I get a ticket refund. So we went to Red, Hot and Blue BBQ. Good food and good Bloody Marys. And for you DFW-ites, this restaurant offers a 20% discount if you come in soaking wet. Just kidding-the discount is good if you have an Albertson's discount card!!! Hot damn. I saved 5.89, AND the dear waitress carded my ass!! Woo Hoo!!! I hope you all had a lovely holiday yesterday. I installed solar screens on the back-uh my house. Ciao, all. Saturday, August 23, 2003
East Texas is raining........... I'm here, in Crockett, visiting my mother and my new baby neice. Rhea (say Ray uh) Lilith Walton-Short. My sister Cassie just gave birth to a cutie. Cassie lives with her man, Lucas. My other sister, Stacy, has a partner named Joey. Stacy, Cassie and I are sisters. Joey and Lucas are brother and sister. So when Lucas and Cassie bacame parents, Stacy, Joey and I all became aunties. Wierd. Remember what I said about Crockett? We're not actually inbred, but its damn close! Today's artist pick: Jack Ingram. Go and get you some of him. He's sooooooo great. Have a ducky weekend, all! I love you. Friday, August 15, 2003
From the mouths of Grandfathers.... So I'm sitting on the deck at my grandparents house last week and we began a discussion about the governor's race in California. He asked me if I liked Arnold, and I told him that I do like him and I think he has a pretty good chance of winning. My grandpa, 84 years old, looked across the pasture and in all sincerity, said this: "I'm just glad Jennifer Lopez isnt running. I just cant stand her. Everyone thinks her butt is so cute, but its no better than anybody else's." What ever made him think of her? Did I miss an article about her running or did this idea just come out of my grandpa's head? However it came about, it was too funny hearing it from him. Have a great weekend, blogworld. I'm off to Kansas to eat birthday cake and spray my kids with Hulk super soaker water guns. |
